Premier Jason Kenney announced Airdrie, along with other communities in Alberta, have been moved to Enhanced status. This triggers the City's mandatory mask bylaw.

So that means on Sundays everyone who attends church will need to wear a mask upon entering our building and for the duration of our service.

We know that for some people this may be frustrating or upsetting for some and for others this may be a relief.  But as a church we are going to choose to follow the direction of our elected officials, and abide by the guidelines provided to us.

The details of our city's new mask bylaw are below:

  • Masks are now mandatory in all indoor public spaces including worship services.
  • Exemptions to the face covering (mask) bylaw:
    • Children under 5
    • Persons with underlying medical conditions or disability which inhibits their ability to wear a face covering
    • Persons who are unable to place or remove a face covering safely without assistance
    • Persons who a caregiving for or accompanying a person with a disability where wearing a face covering would hinder the accommodation of the person’s disability
  • The mandatory face coverings requirement will remain in effect until 14 days after the Enhanced designation is removed by the Province.

There are some other restrictions on Social Gatherings which will affect some of our events taking place at the church, and we will let you know about any changes as they become relevant.
