The Airdrie Pregnancy Care Centre has noticed a sharp increase in families who are in need of adult hygiene products.
Many of the parents who are coming in on behalf of their children, are struggling to afford everyday items like toothpaste and toothbrushes, shower products, deodorant and feminine hygiene products.
It seems like such a small thing to be in need of. But, our clients are really struggling to provide the basics for their families.
"Last Friday I had a mom come in for clothing for her children. She pulled me aside and quietly asked if we had any shampoo for herself. She told me their family had been out of shampoo for two weeks. Sadly, I didn't have anything to offer her." - Carleen Koop (Airdrie Centre Manager)
Which is why they am coming to us. They are asking if our Hillside Family to donate hygiene products for adults (and babies too).
Here is a list of the specific things we are looking for:
-shampoo and conditioner
-body wash (no bars of soap please)
-deodorant for women and men
-adult toothbrushes
-adult toothpaste
-feminine hygiene products (tampons and pads)
-baby lotion and baby wash as well
They would be so grateful for any help we could provide their clients.
If you had anything you would like to donate you can drop it off at the church or you can bring it on a Sunday.
