Before we reached for Him, before we cleaned ourselves up or got it right, God moved toward us in love. The cross is not a response to our effort—it is the starting point of our relationship with Him.
This sermon invited us to lay down the idea that we have to earn God’s love and instead receive what has already been given. Because Jesus lived, died, and rose again, we don’t live trying to be accepted—we live from the place of already being loved.
