At Hillside, our vision isn't primarily about the kind of church we want to build. It's about the kind of people we believe Jesus is forming us to become.
We believe that as the people of Hillside become who God is calling them to be, together we will become the church God is calling us to be.
Our vision comes from Paul's prayer in Ephesians 1:17–19.
I pray that the great God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ may give you the wisdom of His Spirit. Then you will be able to understand the secrets about Him as you know Him better. I pray that your hearts will be able to understand. I pray that you will know about the hope given by God’s call. I pray that you will see how great the things are that He has promised to those who belong to Him. I pray that you will know how great His power is for those who have put their trust in Him.
EPHESIANS 1.17-19
It is our prayer that every person who calls Hillside home would increasingly know God, know His hope, know His purpose, and know His power.
We believe that knowing God goes far beyond information or belief. In Scripture, “knowing” God speaks of relationship — a deep, personal, lived connection.
Our hope is that every person at Hillside would encounter God in a real and personal way — not just with their minds, but with their hearts. We want faith to be more than something we understand; we want it to be something we experience as we grow in relationship with Jesus.
We believe the resurrection of Jesus changes everything.
Because Jesus rose from the dead, we live with a hope that does not fade — a hope that suffering, brokenness, and death do not have the final word. This hope shapes how we live today and how we face the future with confidence and peace.
At Hillside, we want people to live anchored in the hope of God’s calling — a hope that brings meaning, endurance, and joy in every season of life.
We believe every person has been uniquely created by God with purpose and intention. Each of us has gifts to offer, and together we make up the body of Christ.
Our desire is to help people discover how God has designed them and how their lives can be lived with meaning — serving God and serving others. We believe that a life aligned with God’s purpose is the most fulfilling life of all.
We believe the same power that raised Jesus from the dead is at work in the lives of those who trust Him.
Through the presence of the Holy Spirit, God empowers His people to live transformed lives — marked by freedom, love, forgiveness, purpose, and hope. This power is not just for belief, but for everyday life and faithful witness in the world.
At Hillside, we long to see lives changed as people encounter the living presence of Jesus and experience the power of His work in them.
